Tax Diagnosis API

The Klooks Tax Diagnosis API delivers an instant, automated tax review pre-screening for any Brazilian company — from a single CNPJ.

Built for tax advisory firms, law firms, accountants, and M&A professionals who need to quickly assess whether a company is worth pursuing for a tax review engagement.

What you get

For each CNPJ, the API returns:

• Tax regime identification (Simples Nacional, Lucro Presumido, Lucro Real, Exempt/Immune)
• Company profile — legal name, CNAE, legal entity type, state, SICAF status
• Estimated annual revenue via Klooks' proprietary model
• Tax recovery potential (in BRL) — a proprietary score indicating how much a tax review could recover for that company
• Federal tax debts — active debt entries with amounts, origin, status, and dates
• State tax debts — CND-based debt indicators across 24 of 27 Brazilian states
• Eligibility verdict — eligible / not eligible / inconclusive, with justification

Tax Recovery Potential

The recovery potential is a proprietary metric calculated by Klooks' intelligence engine, calibrated on real engagement data across the Brazilian market. It provides a data-driven first filter for prioritizing prospects — not a legal opinion, but a quantitative signal you can act on.

Eligibility

The eligibility verdict is determined by a proprietary decision model that evaluates multiple company attributes simultaneously. The API handles the complexity so you get a clear yes/no/maybe answer with a human-readable justification.

Simples Nacional companies are never eligible and return an early, minimal response.

Debts

Federal debts include individual entries with origin, amount, status, and registration date. State debts indicate existence of debts via CND status but do not include specific amounts. State coverage: 24/27 UFs (BA, AP, and PI are not covered).

Authentication

Send credentials via HTTP Basic Auth header (recommended) or as user and password fields in the request body. Both methods are supported — body fields take priority if both are provided.

Credits & Billing

Each successful request costs credits according to your plan. If you don't have enough credits, the API returns 403 with your current usage and limit. Credits reset monthly.

Response Time

Typical response time is 3–8 seconds. Simples Nacional companies return in under 2 seconds.
